Artificial Intelligence & Social Media – A Monster or An Angel

Nowadays, there’s a growing obsession with how social media and AI are creating news buzz and impacting lives economically. From industrialists and economists to investors, entrepreneurs, and employees—everyone is in the race. The goal is to gather more knowledge and build a dream empire with the idea of making a global impact. But is that really the case? Period!

Since the start of the world, there has always been an intimate relationship between economies and politics. A cold war between them drives the ultimate growth in the GDP of any country. Nowadays, the new ‘cold war’ is among innovators and entrepreneurs. Each strives to build their own empires using similar technologies and strategies. Amidst this ‘Cold War’ of innovation, something crucial is being overlooked and neglected! What is it?

Over the years, social media has been stealing ‘Time’ from ordinary humans. It helps them to build on their business leading to revenue of worth billions. The overwhelming presence of social media has already created an imbalance within personal and professional lives. AI is adding to this imbalance. Now that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming more intelligent each day. The cold war has started. It is forcing people to achieve more. People need to invest more in terms of time. They are competing more to build their brand and impact. This whole dynamic has left people without time to invest in their personal life. They also have very little time for personal relationships. Everyone is investing more in professional relationships rather personal connections leading to an imbalance.

At this stage, it is critical to highlight the importance of balancing personal and professional lives. There is so much around that requires attention. AI and Social media have pros and cons. Yet, their usage can yield results. This can come at the cost of personal life, personal relationships, and mental health in the longer run. That said, it is critical to ensure that AI and Social media become an “Angel” rather a “Monster”.
