The mindset which achieve the state of being present in current moment, create stories to be cherished and lived in future by generations.

Attending an in-person TEDx event has been high on my to-do list, and last week, I finally got the chance to experience it. TEDTalk is a platform where thousands of speakers from around the world each year use 15 minutes to deliver their messages in the most engaging and impactful way. The beauty of each TED talk is that it leaves a lasting impact, encouraging us to think differently and see the world from new perspectives.
Every topic had a powerful message. However, the talks which left lasting impact on me were by Ellen Keane and Dev Skehan.
Ellen was born with an underdeveloped left arm and has achieved remarkable success in her swimming career. Ellen won a gold medal in the 100m breaststroke SB8 at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. In her heartfelt talk, she spoke of battles fought by her, against the judgments of world. At every stage, we face the situation where we’re seen by other’s in a judgemental way. Yet victory lies in self-love’s embrace, ignoring opinions that cloud our thoughts how we perceive ourselves. To win this war, one must be true, and cherish oneself in all we do.

Dev Skehan, based in Ireland, is an adventurous lifestyle content creator and actor. She gained popularity by producing authentic, fun-loving, and creative content. Dev captivated the stage with her stylish outfit and genuine presence. Her words wove a beautiful tale of a girl living in the moment, embracing her true self, accepting her vulnerabilities, and appreciating the world around her. She conveyed a powerful message: live in the present, be your authentic self, take care of yourself, and show kindness to others.

Throughout our lives, we are reminded of the importance of living in the present, embracing our flaws, and transforming them into a beautiful self by being vulnerable, authentic, and unstoppable. This creates ‘the Legacy of Now,’ a legacy to be cherished by future generations.
